Dear RHS Students & Families,
I am writing as a follow up to Dr. Cron’s email regarding the district’s move to full remote learning for all students. Beginning Monday, December 14th, all classes for RHS students will be held remotely. We will follow the same class format that we used at the start of the school year and the schedule when we transitioned to remote learning at the end of October. In both Cohorts A and B, all students will follow their in-person learning schedule, not the schedule they follow during remote learning week classes. Teachers will share the Google Meet links with students on their Google Classroom Pages and/or by email.
The schedule, which is the same every day, for all students, is below.
Daily Schedule Daily Schedule- Cohort A & Cohort B Together | |
8:15-8:50 AM | A Block |
9:00-9:35 AM | B Block |
9:45-10:20 AM | C Block |
10:30-11:05 AM | D Block |
11:15-11:50 AM | E Block |
12:00-12:50 PM | Lunch |
12:50-1:25 PM | F Block |
1:35-2:35 PM | Office Hours |
To reinforce the information presented in Dr. Cron’s email, I want to emphasize the following important points:
Our hybrid model including in-person classes will resume on Monday, January 4th with Cohort “B” being in school and cohort “A” learning remotely. Please note this important calendar change, as cohort A was originally scheduled to return on January 4th.
All extracurricular activities, including athletics, are suspended until further notice. We will evaluate health data in the coming days and weeks and if it is safe to do so, we will consider allowing extracurriculars to begin the week after Christmas.
I appreciate everyone’s continued flexibility. I know this is not easy for children and families but please know we are here to support our students every step of the way. Internet access, technology malfunctions, difficulty with online learning, feeling sick, and not sure what to do, whatever it is- please reach out and we will find a way to help. 2020 was quite a year… it has not been easy but I am very proud of your kids. They are amazingly resilient and while they may not have had the most “typical high school experience” they are going to be prepared for their future- just maybe not how it was scripted. Please stay safe and healthy as 2020 comes to a conclusion.
Please contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
John M. Harrison
RHS Principal
