About Memorial Park Elementary School
Memorial Park Elementary School serves approximately 290 students from kindergarten through grade four. There are currently three classrooms at each grade level.
Our staff prides themselves on life-long learning, with all teachers having advanced degrees. Several of our teachers are certified Reading Specialists or dually certified in elementary education and special education. Grade level teams work collaboratively and share a daily common prep period within the school day and a common collaboration/planning time weekly. Teams strive to bring global awareness to students through yearly Community Service Projects.
Our school brings new ideas and thinking to student learning through the use of technology. Our teachers are well-versed in the latest teaching strategies and have developed units of study to upgrade curriculum and learning through a global lens. Twitter has allowed our school to build professional learning networks and communicate our message of the highest quality of learning possible.
Through the support of our Parent Advisory Council (PAC), our students benefit from cultural enrichment opportunities. The PAC makes every effort to welcome new members each month through meetings and email communications. Each parent/guardian is automatically a member of the PAC as soon as their child begins attending Memorial Park School.
Our School Council works together to address community concerns and school improvement initiatives. The council is comprised of 3 parents, 3 teachers, a community representative and the principal. All meetings are open to the public.
Our students are learning new things everyday and the staff learns from them as well. Together, our school community, will raise student achievement through student effort, commitment, and continuous support. Our students deserve the best teachers and we continue our learning to provide our students with the best researched-based instructional practices.
Meet the Principal

Welcome to Memorial Park Elementary School in Rockland, Massachusetts. I am pleased to be the principal of Memorial Park School and have been honored to be here for 11 years. Over the past 11 years, I have welcomed new families and staff and shared so many memories with so many great people! Many of the original staff at Memorial Park when I started have since retired and so many talented new people have joined our school community. Our teachers are invested in the success of our students and our school. They have always been a part of the hiring process; a team approach to interviewing and selecting new teachers. Through this collaboration, our teachers have a stronger connection to each other and a vested interest in everyone's success.
The best part of working in Rockland is the amazing families that live here and support our schools. We are fortunate to have a very involved and active Parent Advisory Council (PAC) who enrich our academics with cultural opportunities throughout the year. Field Day is held at the end of the school year and all parents come together to make this event a fun day filled with great memories.
