2019-2020 Course Selection Process
The process of selecting classes for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year has begun. To begin the course selection process for next year, guidance counselors will visit classrooms 1/23 – 1/29 to distribute course selection information. All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will receive a course selection sheet and a Program of Studies summary sheet. We will not be distributing printed copies of the Program of Studies this year. Here is an electronic copy of the Program of Studies.
Teachers will soon begin having conversations about course selections with individual students. This is a very important part of the scheduling process. Beyond entering recommendations, please consider each Rockland High School teacher as a resource. Each teacher is highly qualified to help you with the course selection/future planning process. Even if you do not have a specific question, consulting with a teacher regarding your coursework and future plans is wise. Although course sign-ups will be initiated during school, changes to your son or daughter’s course selections can be made from home at any time during the registration period or by contacting the guidance office. We encourage you to sit with your son or daughter and carefully review the 2019-2020 Program of Studies. Signed course selection sheets (with teacher recommendation and parent signatures) are due in Guidance no later February 15th. Guidance counselors will meet with students at the end of February to select electives in X2 Aspen.
