RHS Winter Sports Update 1/11

Swim Team

On Saturday, January 5th, the girls and boys swim team lost to Norwell High School.

Wrestling

The varsity wrestling team fell to Cohasset on Wednesday, January 9th.

 

Girls Basketball

The Rockland girls varsity team defeated Middleboro 46-32. Caroline Elie had 16 pts, 7 rebs. and 6 steals. Hannah Wyllie had 12 pts, 12 rebs and 5 blocks. Julia Elie had 11 rebs. Their record is now 6-2 and 3-1 in the SSL. The girls junior varsity team also won.

 

Boys Basketball

On Friday, January 4th, the RHS JV boys basketball team defeated Norwell High School 40-39.

On Sunday, January 6th, the RHS varsity basketball team played Norwell at the TD Garden. The dogs lost in a hard fought game, 45-42, but what an incredible experience for our student athletes, band, and cheerleaders.

Coach Fred Damon picked up his 200th career win on Tuesday evening in the boys varsity victory over Middleboro. The JV and freshmen teams also defeated Middleboro HS. Click here to read the Enterprise’s story.

 

Hockey

On Saturday, January 5th, the RHS varsity hockey team defeated Middleboro 6-3. Sophomore Nick Blonde had 3 goals, Senior Evan Gormley 2 goals and 1 assist, and Sophomore Zach Phripp had his 1st career goal. Freshman Erin Flaherty had 3 assists and senior George Selados earned the win in goal.
