DECEMBER 14, 2018

Here are a few highlights from this past week:

  • Congratulations to this week’s Top Dog-Antonio Gilstrap! Read about Antonio’s accomplishments by clicking here.
  • For this edition of the  Images webzine the club highlighted two artists: Senior Matt Dalton and Junior Molly Boggs. Matt’s surrealist illustrations and Molly’s postmodern poetry are extraordinary. Here is the link to the webzine.
  • Check out A.P. Art student, Sarah Pollard’s detail of ribs done in craypas. Her A.P. concentration is called, “Beauty Is Only Skin Deep” which focuses on the human body and that beyond our exteriors, we are all the same underneath.
  • Last Monday, December 10th at the School Committee Meeting, AP Scholars were recognized. In addition students in the Pathways Program were featured in this month’s Rockland Public Schools Curriculum Corner. All of our student presenters did an outstanding job.  To read more about these amazing students, please click here.
  • The RHS Key Club assisted the Kiwannis Club at a Santa Helper event this past weekend. Here is a picture of the volunteers!
  • Thank you to the Massachusetts National Guard for coming to Rockland High School last week to assist our students in completing the Guard Fit Challenge. Here is a picture.
  • The RHS Art Club spent time this week making holiday cards and ornaments for the residents at the Marion Manor nursing home. Here is a picture of the students working.
  • Congratulations to our Music Department for putting together two outstanding Holiday Concerts this past week. On Wednesday, December 11th, there was a  Band Concert and the Choral Concert was last night, December 12th. Here is a video of the band performing and here is a video of the chorus which also sounded great.
  • Here is a winter sports update. Good luck to all of our athletic teams!
