The high school Art Dept. has had a busy start to the year by assisting in several
community service projects. In September, some of our Foundations of Art
students collaborated with Reimagine Rockland by assisting two visiting artist
spray paint the “Soles of Rockland” throughout town. Their work can still be seen
on the sidewalks in front of some local attractions along Union Street.
The Art Club recently decorated several display boards for the Credit For Life Fair
that took place Nov. 7. The Art Club/Comic Book Club meets on Wednesdays
after school in room 204.
Notably, this past summer Senior A.P. Art student, Emmy Kelley attended a
summer program at RISD in Providence, RI where she took Drawing, Photography
and a Theory of Art Class. She has accumulated an impressive body of work for
her portfolio and is currently applying to several art schools including, RISD,
MassArt, Pratt and SCAD. She recently took a break from her portfolio and
created a banner for the upcoming Blood Drive in honor of Ann Phelps which will
be held at the beginning of December.
