R. Stewart Esten Elementary School
Students in Mrs. Pistorino's class at Esten Elementary School learned
about figures of speech by creating multimedia projects in Little Bird Tales
complete with illustrations, writing and narration.
Students in Mrs. Sulmonte's first grade class at Esten Elementary School did an author study on Jan Brett. Students chose their favorite books, wrote about it, and illustrated a favorite scene. Then, they recorded their ideas using Audioboo and included their pictures.
***Late Breaking News***
As students were finishing their author study, Mrs. Sulmonte happened to meet Jan Brett at a nearby restaurant. She shared that her first grade students were doing an author study on her. After hearing about their project, Jan Brett went home and returned with a signed piece of artwork that reads, "for Angela's class~ Dear Rockland first graders, Happy Reading! This is the turtle I painted in my video! Love you! Jan" What an amazing coincidence!
